Thank you Sally ….
The team would like to extend their heart-felt thanks and very best wishes to Sally Barnett who has stepped down from her role as team
Fundraising Officer. Sally, whose husband Colin is a long-time team member, has been associated with the team as a Supporter and Associate Team Member for 12 years during which time she has done a sterling job in Appointed Officer roles taking in PR, Fundraising and Supporters. As a rough calculation it’s estimated that Sally’s fund-raising efforts have netted the team around £100K over that period, which is simply outstanding. So, from all the team, thank you Sally for your dedication to these thankless tasks!
Part of sally’s reasons for standing down include a recent diagnosis of Fibromyalgia and ME, both of which are very unpleasant and debilitating conditions; Sally specifically asked for this to be mentioned in order to raise awareness of these conditions. For more information and support on these conditions please visit www.arthritisresearchuk.org.
Sally’s final official fundraising event, if you wish to join her and support her, will be a week on Saturday, 14th October, at Shrigley Hall for the team’s 4th Charity Ball in aid of Kinder MRT and in memory of our ex-team Chairman, team-mate and friend, Ken Blakeman. For more information and tickets, contact sally on 07742811938.
Sally’s husband, Colin, remains a committed member of the team and Sally herself is determined to continue as a Supporter of the team. Once again Sally, thank you and we wish you the very best of health despite what’s facing you.
