New landrover for KMRT

Thanks to a £20,000 grant from the Co-operative Charitable Foundation the Team has purchased a second Land Rover. This has been equipped in a similar fashion to the current vehicle. The two vehicles will be known as Mobile 1 and Mobile 2.
Ken Blakeman and Geoff Crowther attended the Co-operative Charitable Foundation’s annual awards event in Rochdale where they were presented with a certificate for the £20,000 donation.
The vehicle was ordered from Guy Salmon’s in Stockport during October and was delivered there in November. Salmon’s transferred the vehicle to Macclesfield Motor Bodies where it was fitted out as an ambulance. The vehicle was delivered to the Team during the week before Christmas.
A dedication ceremony for the two Team vehicles was held on the morning of Saturday 22nd January with Hayfield’s vicar, the Rev Hilary Egerton, officiating. The ceremony was held at Moorgate and was attended by Team members, their families and friends.

Although the Co-op grant went a long way towards paying for the second vehicle
a large sum of money has had to be found from Team funds to pay for fitting
out the vehicle. Chris Banister, Team Fundraiser, has been working hard raising
money from local organisations and businesses to cover these additional costs.
He is always interested to hear of other potential sources of funding, however,
so if you know of any company or local business that may be willing to contribute
to the Vehicle appeal please get in touch.
