Santa Dash

The 2016 Hayfield Santa Dash races will be held on Sunday 4th December starting at 11:00. The fell runs are organised by Kinder Mountain Rescue Team in conjunction with the Hayfield May Queen Committee as a fundraising event.

There are two races:

  • The Senior race starts at 11:00. This is a 7 km long fell race, with 160m of climbing. It follows a route that is extended from last year. It takes you up to the far end of Kinder reservoir and back. Prizes will be awarded for the first second and third male and female runners. You must be 18 to enter this.

  • The Junior race, for runners over 8 starts at 11:10 and is 1.7 km long, with 80m of climbing and it follows the same route as last year, up to Twenty Trees and back. Prizes for the first two boys and the first two girls.

Both races will be well marshalled and marked. The races follow FRA rules, so runners must have the appropriate kit with them. See http://www.fellrunner.org.uk/index.php and

Entry is on the day and costs £7.50 for Seniors and £4.00 for Juniors.
There will be refreshments and cakes offered at the Cricket Club during and after the races. Santa will be there, and families are welcome.

Registration is at Hayfield Cricket Club adjacent to the Royal Hotel, Market Street, Hayfield, Derbyshire SK22 2EP. The start of the race is at Registration, and the finish is a short walk from the Cricket Club. .

Runners can park in the public car park for the Sett Valley Trail which is pay and display.

Please try and avoid parking at the Royal Hotel car park next to the Cricket Club as this is supposed to be for their patrons only.
