Generous donation from Co Op Community Fund
On Saturday 25 November 2017, Team Chairman Nigel Taylor and long-term team member Howard Taylor (no relation) attended the Co Operative food store in Whaley Bridge to collect a donation from the Co Op Community Fund.
Mountain rescue in the UK is provided entirely free-of-charge by unpaid volunteers giving up their time to train, fund-raise and attend call-outs, which may be helping people lost or injured in hilly terrain, helping the Ambulance Service in hard-to-reach locations or helping the Police to search for missing persons in urban and lowland areas.
The team’s running costs, of approximately £25K per year, for equipment and vehicles are met entirely through public donations so the money donated by the Co Operative will go a long way to help keep the team on the road (and the hill); a huge thank you to The Co Operative from all at Kinder MRT.
