There is never a “standard callout” for a mountain rescue team, but this one was a little unusual for us.

17 – Roped in to a Buxton shout? Saturday 7th May

  • Type – EMAS Ambulance assist
  • Location – Hollins Cross
  • Team Members – 3
  • Man Hours – 1Hr 30

A joint Buxton/Edale snatch squad was called to assist EMAS recovering an injured mountain biker from the Hollins Cross area, which is part of the Great Ridge between Mam Tor and Back Tor.

16 – Call Out, Monday 2nd May 2011

  • Type – Known Location, Minor Injury
  • Location – Lane Ends, Marple Bridge
  • Team Members – 18
  • Man Hours – 18 Hrs

Called out via PDMRO Duty Controller, to assist Fire Brigade with evacuation of fallen mountain biker. Casualty was located short distance down a gully.

Whilst on patrol as a Peak Park Ranger, a probationary Team Member happened upon a Duke of Edinburgh party, one of whom had suffered a soft tissue injury to his knee.

Team were called out by Duty Controller to assist Police with search for a missing person who was located by a team member enroute to the RV point.

We were called out to assist a road ambulance crew with the evacuation of an injured mountain biker.

11 – Callout 21st – 22nd April 2011

  • Type – Multi team Search for a missing vulnerable person.
  • Location – Bleaklow
  • Team Members – 18 KMRT, also Glossop, Woodhead and SARDA
  • Duration – 14 hours over the 2 days.
