The team were called after reports of a walker being injured around the Kinder Gates area during a Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Passers by had seen her and reported it to another person who then notified the police. Well done to them and many thanks.
When we arrived at the location, the group could not be found and a search of the area commenced. In addition, we began to escalate it to a Kinder Plan job which involves calling in Glossop, Edale and Buxton MRT’s to cover the rest of the plateau. As Glossop were deploying, they came across a group at Snake Summit, one of whom had a bad ankle. They had managed to carry on walking towards their destination unaware that others had called the police to their assistance. Once established that this was definitely our group, all teams were stood down.
We had a lovely walk on a beautiful evening. Everyone concerned did the right thing and it was just a case of miscommunication.
