After callout 31 and with deteriorating weather, the decision was taken to man our base for the rest of the day and it was not long before that choice proved worthwhile. A walker had become disorientated in blizzard conditions, without a map or compass he used his only remaining option – A mobile phone. He was located uninjured and escorted of the hill.
Weather conditions can change quickly in the hills, especially in winter. Take the necessary equipment & know how to use it.
