Callout 29. 5th December 2009
A group of three walkers found themselves lost having been caught out by darkness and heavy mist in an area popular with walkers for losing their way. They were swiftly located by one of our hill parties and walked back to one of our Land Rover Ambulances for a lift back down to Hayfield. Important factors in locating them were that they stayed where there were once they had requested our help and guided us in with their torches.
If you are going into the hills don’t forget to take map, compass, whistle and torch – and know how to use them.
If you need Mountain Rescue dial 999 and ask for POLICE, once connected tell the Police you require MOUNTAIN RESCUE.
