Callout 22: 21 December 2007
Called at 14:45 to assist a gentleman who had fallen at the top of Jacob’s Ladder. The gentleman was in severe pain and suffering breathing difficulties. Sub-zero temperatures added the potential for hypothermia to an already dangerous situation. An RAF Sea King helicopter was called, but was unable to get to the casualty site due to poor weather conditions. The gentleman was treated on site and then carried off down Jacob’s Ladder with the assistance of Buxton MRT. A waiting land ambulance took the casualty to hosiptial in Sheffield. Callout completed at 20:00.
