The team were alerted, shortly before 6pm, to two ladies who had become lost and benighted on Kinder. Quite sensibly they had rung 999 and then stayed put. Phone comms with the pair was infrequent and we had been unable to use SARLOC to locate them. However, information had been passed to us using Eastings/Northings and this was converted to a good NGR which placed them just behind Kinder Downfall, on the plateau (they had described being near a river which went over a cliff – so also a good indication as to where to find them). Two ‘fast’ search parties were dispatched, up Sandy Hays and Three Knolls, with a find then claimed by Kinder 1 party, at the Downfall. Found to be fit and well, the ladies were accompanied off the hill to a waiting team vehicle at Moorgate. A good straight forward job, as the pair raised the alarm early on and then sought some shelter, staying put until found.
