The team were just completing an exercise on the Kinder plateau and were just arriving back at our vehicles. We received a call from the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation Duty Controller with a request to assist a walker by Kinder Reservoir who had collapsed and was unable to continue.
We were able to quickly deploy the team directly to the reservoir where our Team Doctor was able to treat the casualty. A request for air support was made due to the casualty’s condition and Rescue 912 was scrambled to assist. With the casualty packaged and ready to go, he was winched aboard the helicopter and flown to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield for care.
We wish him well and hope he achieves a speedy recovery.
